BSOD even starting in Safe Mode - hangs on aswrvrt.sys
« on: April 21, 2014, 02:27:08 AM »
I've had my computer down for about three days now, and after a lot of testing and fiddling, I've finally found where things are hanging as well as ruling out harddrive corruption and the like (I hope!).

The system hangs on aswrvrt.sys on every single windows start up, including every flavor of safemode.

I can access cmd fine, and even msconfig (sometimes) and regedit (both from cmd), but haven't been able to figure out a solution using those. And when I try to use my Win7 64 disk, it says that the computer is already using it and I need to reboot, even when I boot onto the disk. So I can't even do that at this point.

Attached is my FRST64 text.

Thanks in advance.

Well, that's embarrassing. After all my work the last few days, late nights and all that, I retried a BIOS change that I THOUGHT I"d done already... and it's fixed. :D (was set to IDE, set it to ACHI instead)
