Title: This sounds scary but...how do I remove a decompression bomb?
Post by: cerealkiller on February 11, 2010, 10:04:38 PM
my avast shows me that I have a decompression bomb, probably left from my Your PC Protector virus. I t is apparently working because after every scan I have more infected files. I feel like this is a race against the clock so How should I proceed???

Hi and slow down  ;) you don't have to remove anything. A decompression bomb in this context only means that avast cannot scan a file because the level of compression is too high, or it contains multiple sub-archives. It would take ages to scan that. So this has nothing to do with malware okay  ;)

ps: your PC Protector issue is something else, a serious issue, but something else.
