Avast on the go.
« on: April 12, 2010, 10:31:36 PM »
Hi everyone:

I am a part time computer technician, and i am over at people's houses all the time fixing thier computers, so i was wondering if there is a way that i could use My AV Pro edition on thier computer without auctually installing it?

Kinda a "on the go" edition.

Thanks
Lan

Short answer is no, your Pro license is for installation on one system.

Unless you slave their hard disk, but I don't know how effective that would be or if it would be against any terms of use, etc.

There is the Bart CD version of avast, which is geared up to mobile techs, but it isn't cheap.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.2.6105 (build 24.2.8918.824) UI 1.0.799/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

DavidR:

Thanks for the Reply. That kinda sucks for me. Alot of the times when i am working on other peoples computer, i have to slave thier drives to mine, and i can scan it from there, However it does not pick up some things when trying it as a slave. Most of the time i will turn thier computer on and just install the free version, that normally fixes whatever problem it is, I was just trying to get a mobile version..Oh Well..

Thanks for the help anyway.

p.s I don't think running my AV pro on someone's slave Disk is against the Rules ( but im not sure), I DOnt install it on thier system, i just run it from mine.. If it was possible to run across a network, that would help alot.
