New here, have Asus Desktop will not start windows 7 64b
« on: April 17, 2014, 10:46:54 PM »
I have a friends Asus desktop computer model CM1730 will not boot up into Win 7, nor will it boot up in safe mode.  Have run startup recovery multiple times with no help.

When attempting to boot in safe mode it gets to the Driver ASWRvrT.sys and then reboots

Have recovery USB, have FRST64 and have done a scan will attach the file.

Any help on this is greatly appreciated

What other security software do you have now or ever had?
If removed how was it uninstalled?

You can try a clean install...

Download and save the avast uninstall tool
Download and save RejZor's avast clean-up tool. To find it scroll down towards the bottom of the page.
Download and save the desired version...
Avast Free
Avast Pro
Avast Internet Security
Avast Premier
Run the uninstall tool from above. You will be directed you reboot into safe mode...click "yes".
Reboot.
Run RejZor's clean-up tool from above.
Reboot
Install avast choice from above.
Reboot and either register or insert license.

Download the attached Fixlist.txt to the same location as FRST
Run FRST and press Fix
On completion a log will be generated please post that

Then try a normal boot
