how can I turn off the verbal notice of virus updates?
« on: August 17, 2010, 08:48:35 PM »
The "Viruses have been updated" announcements that crop up several times a day are annoying. Is there a way turn those off (in Avast free 5) without turning off other warnings?
The visual announcement is Ok. Just don't need the voice.

Thanks.

Duh. When I saw "Automatic Update" under the event options, I'd though it meant program updates, not virus list.

Thanks.

I just came here to post the same question because I've set it to gaming mode a few times, even gone in and unchecked the "only when full screen application is running" option and I'm still getting the verbal updates.

I shall now try this so thank you.
