avast service turned off

Several times I begin session on computer, already running, but note "Avast service turned off". 
I didn't turn it off.  Is it normal for avast to turn itself off?

Some info about your system including other security software installed, is this also a new install of avast ? what AV was installed on the system before avast and how did you remove it ?
