And, why don't you like FF? I thought it was one of the safest browsers for malware, popups and other sh*t?

If you compare it to IE6 then I would agree...  But look through the forum and note the mal url threads that are not associated with TDSS or zero access and you will find that the majority are rogue firefox addons.  Plus it does not work straight out of the box, to make it functional you need to install other small programmes which may not be what they seem     I did try Firefox a few years ago but it was that fact which dissuaded me from using it (this also applies to Chrome) Others may well disagree but that is their right, I like going against the flow as well

Hmm, I set a big value on the opinion of an expert/computer-great-mind... so maybe I should switch back to IE... big step after all this years...

Windows 7 will take IE10 which is even more secure than IE9

However, the choice is yours I would never try to sway you one way or the other.. This is just my personal view

A good workman always cleans up after himself so..The following will implement some cleanup procedures as well as reset  System Restore points:

Run AdwCleaner and press uninstall

Run OTL and hit the cleanup button.  It will remove all the programmes we have used plus itself. 

We will now confirm that your hidden files are set to that, as some of the tools I use will change that

• Click Start.
• Open My Computer.
• Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
• Select the View Tab.
• Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Do not show hidden files and folders.
  
• Click Yes to confirm.
• Click OK.

   Your Java is out of date.
Older versions have vulnerabilities that malware can use to infect your system.
Please follow these steps to remove older version of Java components and upgrade the application.

 Upgrading Java:

• Go to this site  and click Do I have Java
  
• It will check your current version and then offer to update to the latest version

Update and run weekly to keep your system clean

Download and install FileHippo update checker and run it monthly it will show you which programmes on your system need updating and give a download link

If you use on-line banking then as an added layer of protection install Trusteer Rapport
