Recycler
« on: April 14, 2013, 07:26:13 PM »
When Avast runs its scheduled scans on my computer, it finds files in a "recycler" folder on my C: drive.  The files will not "move" into the virus chest.  When I do a search of my hard drive, it can't find this "recycler" folder.  A quick search of the FAQ's lead me to believe I do not want this folder on my pc.

How can I get rid of it????

right click your recycle bin icon .... and empty it ..... is it still detected if you scan again ?

OBS: you dont tell us what avast say about the file(s) ?

You don't remove it.

Recycler is a necessary system file.  Without it you will not be able to temporarily delete files you do not wish to keep.  It is hidden from view for the exact reason given at first; it is a system file and a consequence of removing this file can be a system repair (if that works) or a brand-new system install (if it does not).

As long as a file remains in Recycler (bin), the option to restore that file remains and is possible.  Pondus is right, avast! is detecting a malicious file within Recycler; merely emptying it should take care of the problem.
