Program update 7.0.1451
« on: June 28, 2012, 07:23:32 PM »
Hi all,

I'm glad to announce new program update of avast! Free AV / Pro AV / Internet Security (version 7.0.1451).

This program update contains the following major features:
* Changes in the autosandbox module
* Improvements in Remote Assistance (support for UAC prompts etc)
* Improvements in SafeZone (protection against kernel-mode keyloggers;  Updated SafeZone Browser; clipboard sharing, etc.)
* Outlook plugin redesign
* Opera support in WebRep
* SiteCorrect module for the detection of unwanted websites
* Windows 8 compatibility updates
* Emergency Updater

Download locations:
http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/avast_free_antivirus_setup.exe
http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/avast_internet_security_setup.exe
http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/avast_pro_antivirus_setup.exe

It should be possible to install this version on top of your existing avast! installation (all settings should be preserved). Also, you can use build-in updater.

thanks for your feedback during beta testing!

Pavel

Just as expected! AutoSandbox close button still hasn't been fixed! It still gives the same error just like previous betas and the release candidate. Also I still don't see the yellow border with the AutoSandbox tag for programs, except for the AutoSandbox test tool...

When is Avast going to make the script shield working with Chrome? It still isn't.

Manual Program Update from regular 7.0.1426 avast free version worked fine; shows option to try AIS for 20 days or just the Essential update.

Install went OK on my win7 netbook, on reboot you get the complete your avast software update screen, ensure you uncheck the Chrome bits before clicking the Finish button.

Now about to update the RC1 1447 build on my XP Pro system.

Updater from within the program not working:

bob, you are using Beta build, right? Did the update work from beta to release by update button?

thx
Lukas.
Quality is also a feature.

Confirm the same issue as Bob on my RC1 7.0.1447 build, checking for a program update from the UI reports the program is up to date. It is as though the RC1 build is only looking for a beta/RC update availability.

I tried a Repair followed by an Update from Control Panel, add remove programs and that also reported having the latest program version.

Updated manually to Avast Free 7.0.1451 now Application Layer Gateway fails to start, Notification that windows firewall is off, although it does come on, but no alg.exe running in task manager or not running in sevices....XP Pro sp3

Added...I seemed to have fixed this by setting Avast to load after other system services...alg.exe is now running at start up, shows in task manager and in services, no problems now with windows firewall...all seems well.

I can confirm too. It looks like we have to use the installer to update.
