Network Sheild blocking network scanner
« on: September 01, 2010, 10:09:11 PM »
I have an HP OfficeJet Pro L7680 All-in-One that I use to scan documents to a shared folder on my PC. Network Shield is detecting the attempt to save the scanned document to my computer as an exploit.

Why is there no option available to configure Network Shield exceptions??? So what if the average user is unable to figure out how to configure those settings. Exception configuration should be a feature of ANY product that has the potential to block or otherwise modify network traffic to a PC.

Here's what Avast shows in the popup...

Object: <Printer IP>:445/tcp
Infection: Win32:CVE-2009-3103 [Expl]
Action: Blocked

OK, maybe you missed the part where I said that Avast Network Shield is detecting my scanner trying to save a document to my PC as an exploit. There is no infection. No viruses. No malware.
