MalwareBytes questions ....................please help !

i just wanna know if there's a new version of malwarebytes, would they notify me automatically ?

if not, how do i know when there's a new version ?

and do i need to uninstall the old version before i download the new one ?

When you start Malwarebytes, it will tell you if a new program version is there. You don't need to uninstall then, it will install over the existing version.

The database should be updated prior to every scan: go to "update" tab and update.

When updating, MBAM informs that a new version is available.

Depends on if you have the Pro or Free version, the Pro version can do auto updates, the free you have to do a manual update.

In the free version, by default when you check for updates it should also check for program updates, see image.

Yeah. The program itself updates automatically - or at least alerts you, when a new version is available. And if you set the updater as in my screenshot, you more or less have auto-updates for the database as well as it will ask you every day upon start to search for new database.

With it as an on-demand scanner I saw no need to do that, mine is set to seven days, as basically I do a scan every 7 days and I normally manually update before doing the scan even if that happens to be out of my 7 day sequence.
