Boot scan could not repair 4 virus and....
« on: February 07, 2013, 06:26:18 PM »
Hello everyone. I just want to say thank you to the people who make the virus software, it's very good.

My problem is that I decided to run a boot scan and had it set to Repair. The scan found 4 infected files (folders?) but it said it could not repair any of them.
So I stopped the scan and set it to delete the infected files and did another boot scan. This time no viruse or infected folders were found.
So what happened to the viruses that were found during the cancelled first boot scan?

I have windows xp.
Thank you very much for any help.

As I said I had done a Boot Scan and had it set to repair (clean) and 4 times it said it was unable to clean the 4 virues it found. I then did another scan with the settings set to "delete" and no virues etc were found.

I wanted to know what happened to the viruses that avast found but could not clean in the first boot scan?

Thank you for the reply, that information was useful. I have set my settings to "quantine" as a result.

EDIT: ok then, thank you.
