Help to remove win32:pup-gen
« on: February 15, 2012, 03:59:49 AM »
Hi all,

I did a full system scan of my PC and Avast (paid version) found 2 files infected with win32:pup-gen.

I selected to put them in the chest. Is this the right action?
Is there a removal tool that I can download to get rid of the little bugger?
Is there anything else I should do?

Thanks in advance

Dan

PUP = not virus - PUP (Potentially Unwanted Program)

PUP is just a warning that you have a program that can be used for good or bad if abused......
in the default quick/full scan, pup scan is off

Thanks for the reply Pondas,

OK so maybe not a big issue then?
I can not remember the excact file extension but it was in both a collection of music and a collection of video that a friend of mine gave to me.
