Recommend avast! and get Internet Security for free

So you expected a free lifetime license for sticking a trial version on peoples computers and where would these three month trials come from since there is no such thing.

Ok, the people I have recommended are complaining that they can't download an offline version from the recommendation link. They are on limited bandwidth so, don't want to use an online installer. Can somebody tell how to download the full offline installer from the recommendation link.

The unique URL for the download is how they link it to your reference/referral ID, without that I don't know if they can subsequently credit you with the referral.

The idea is good, but the method is winding up the horse from the wrong side ...

When I install Avast, I _ALWAYS_ install it offline from the latest available package directly from the appropriate place ... and NEVER by any kind of "downloadfromwithintheinstalldownloaderinstaller" ...

So binding the reward to the installation from a certain download site is not the thing ... it should be bound to the eMail-licensing. But it would be too easy to just add a "reward eMail field" to the filling-out-fields inside the registration page.

The way should be that the Installer (that person that should get the reward) would have to add the eMail-address of the User to it's "reward list" (a list kept online at avast inside the account of the installer person); and the installer only then gets the reward, when the eMail-address of the User is not only requested for a license, but also that license number was activated in an installation of avast. The reward is given only if all the three things are done:

1. the eMail address of the User is inserted in the list of the Installer account (that is done by the Installer person onto his list inside his account)
2. the user requests a license with that email address
3. that license is used to activate an installation

(point 2 and 3 usually (but not always) are done within one step)

All these three things have to happen within one week - regardless of the order of each (often it is the case that I install somewhere avast direcly at the place of the user from my stick, but he does not have a thick internet access, and I don't know his eMail-address in advance.

So if all these three things happen within one week, the reward is given; otherwise it is void.

That would be the real solution!

Btw: adding some check information (that is displayed at the installation and that the installer person would have to add to the eMail-address) could also be considered, but should not be necessary as it's the activation that counts.

If the person I referred, downloads from that link and installs avast! and registers, I get credit.
If they don't use that link, even if I recommended avast!, I don't get credit.
If they download avast! from that special link but never register avast!, I also don't get credit

I have reached the amount of referrals for the 3 year license. However when i donwload the license it only wants to give me a 2 year license. Any idea why?

I am very pleased with the free avast system. It is fully compatible with the actual use of my computer, only for familiar and personal use and not for business purposes. I would like to thank the management for this service, which I recommend to everybody in the same position as I am.

I am 77 years old and follow through several chanals the daily news worldwide. Since The Van Mechelen Company in Turnhout, Belgium, put me on the avast free system, I never encountered problems and I feel very safe, having grandchildren at the university which make often use of my computer in order to prepare themselves for examinations or look for additional information for their univ courses.

I hope that I can continue to use free avast as long as I am able to use a computer.

What would happen if you don't get enough referrals to get the free license and would you have to pay for the 3 year license? Just wondering.

There is an option to disable these popups in the paid version (as in the reply to your other post) - where there wasn't in the version relating to the quoted from 4th December 2012.

The cheating thing is a challenge. E.g.  I already have 12 obscurely-named email addresses I could "refer" to if that was my intention.

I just wish it had started sooner. None of my previous referrals count.
