Java update
« on: September 04, 2012, 09:20:05 AM »
I am told that I should temporarily stop the funtioning of my Avast in order to avoid a conflict, when I download/update the newest Java-update. However, I can find nowhere on the page, where I can stop Avast.  (I use Chrome and Firefox) Can anyone help?

I generally use Filehippo Updater for things like that. It's reliable and quick.

On contrary, avast! is which is protecting you against the Java exploits and the slowness that Oracle is releasing updates. The last vulnerability arose in April and was corrected only on August, 30.
Keep your antivirus always on and updated.

I thought Malware creators were impotent.  That is why they  have so much time to create Malware.
