Internet Explorer - Sandbox
« on: February 03, 2011, 02:45:08 PM »
When I run Start - Programs and right click on IE I do not get any virtulization options.
I am able to add IE to "Run A Virtulized Process" in the Process Virtulization tab of Real-Time Schields. This runs IE in sandbox everytime I fire it up and is not the way I want to run it. How can I get a right click option to work in IE?
I'm running Windows XP Pro 32 bit.

Hi archer7, welcome to the forum :)

Is it just IE?

Do you have it selected in avast?

In the Expert Settings, you can further define applications that should always be run in virtualized mode, and trusted applications that should never be virtualized.

Context Menu
By checking the box "Integrate into the right-click context menu..." on the Parameters screen, you can add this option to the context menu. You can add this option for all users, or only for users with administrator rights.

You can then run an application in the sandbox by simply right-clicking it and selecting "Run virtualized".

Thanks for the welcome and your rapid response Scott.
I've solved the problem. The procedure I used was click...
Start
My Computer
Open Local Disk (C:)
Open Program Files
Open IE File
In the IE File I was able to right click on IE and it had the virtulization menu I was missing
I pinned this IE to the Start menu and deleted the original IE from Start
After a reboot everything worked as expected
