I'm having this exact same problem.  I'm also on Windows XP, and I can't find anything marked "Go to Real Time Shields" or "Expert Settings" to try and disable this.  I found Exclusions, and added the Blizzard Entertainment folder, but I'm STILL getting the virus warning and unable to log in.

Avast, PLEASE fix this!!

Edit:  Got in by disabling On-Access Protection just long enough to log in.  I don't like doing that, but again, please fix this ASAP.

You have to add a wildcard at the end of the path:  C:\ProgramData\Blizzard Entertainment\Battle.net\*

Im using 4.8 Pro, and I added: C:\ProgramData\Blizzard Entertainment\Battle.net\*  to the exclusions but I'm still getting the warning, im using Vista 64bit and I cant seem to find Real Time Shield or Expert Settings or anything remotely close, all I can do is click Settings and Exclusions.

Why did you delete it?
If you have send to Chest you would be able to restore it...
Or if you were using Comodo Time Machine...

I think right now it's gone forever... Sorry.

I believe those files are randomly generated every time you start WoW.  On mine each time I tried to log in, the file name was a bit different.  So I don't -think- you have anything to worry about.  It's just a temporary file created to get you logged into their system.  (Okay yes, I could be mistaken, but that is the impression I get.)

I also deleted my file, and I cannot log into WoW now.  I get an error message when I try to log in.

Thanks Avast...   :(

dumb question I know, but how do you "Open up your Avast! User Interface" ?
This is from the earlier post on how to add the exclusion.  I have the free version and I have never used the User Interface.  I can't find anything that will allow me to follow the instructions given for adding the exclusion.
