Unable to uninstall avast ANTIVIRUS

I recently installed avast and did not care for it as it clashes withzone alarm which Iam more used to.I have tried add/remove on XP to be informed an error occurred whilst downloading.Has anyone any solution to this problem???.

It's not true that avast! crashes when it's used with ZoneAlarm on the same computer. You said you're more used to Zone Alarm than avast!... strange.. ZoneAlarm is not antivirus, but software firewall.

I use both, ZoneAlarm and avast! and it makes perfect combination. They like each other very, very much ;D
Ask other users, members of this forum that uses ZoneAlarm and you'll get same response...

Sometimes it´s not possible to uninstall avast! antivirus standard "ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS control panel" way. In that case you can use uninstallation utility called AvClear.

Using the latest version of zone alarm here, along side the latest version of Avast. Both programs have been playing very well together.

Sorry to hear that you did not like Avast, but I cannot see why.
There is NO compatibility problems with Zone Alarm and Avast.

If you are (were) having problems, then maybe you would like to discuss them here so I can help you.

SZ is keen on the observation that you "were used to ZA".
Avast does not even have an interface similar to ZA!
Were you looking for an Antivirus or Firewall?

You apparently came to the forum for help, but left undo criticism instead.  Let us help you.
