hi
i have the free version but it keeps popping up saying a new database has been installed and also slowing
down what in trying to do on the computer.how can i turn off these updates?thanks

Hi...

Although the option exists, it's not a good idea at all to turn off the updates entirely. Would turning off the update notification pop-ups instead resolve the issue? For that, please see DavidR's instructions here.
