As I said, the two files are in the chest. Both were in /store/images/ folders of archived zencart (e-commerce) stores, both with "last updated" date of 26/6/2009. And the Virus was "PHP:Shell-AX [Trj]. Is it possible to upload them to virustotal.com when they're in the chest?

I did another full scan and it found nothing. Silent/gaming mode has remained OFF since I reset it.

I'm on Windows 7 Professional x64.

If the files are in the chest, then subsequent scans would find nothing.

Try scanning the files again from within the chest, avastUI, Maintenance, Virus Chest and right click on the file and select scan.

If they are still detected ?
Then you can upload to VirusTotal:
Check the offending/suspect file at: VirusTotal - Multi engine on-line virus scanner and report the findings here, post the URL in the Address bar of the VT results page. You can't do this with the file securely in the chest, you need to Extract it to a temporary (not original) location first, see below.

Create a folder called Suspect in the C:\ drive. Now exclude that folder in the File System Shield, Expert Settings, Exclusions, Add, type (or copy and paste) C:\Suspect\*
That will stop the File System Shield scanning any file you put in that folder.
