streaming updates is working here, just wait a bit then take a look at 'latest update received' under maintenance. dun bother with 'connection: connection

not established'. this is because it only shows 'connection: connection established' when Avast servers push updates to ur client (Avast antivirus). for most

of the other times, it will not be established as to reduce load on Avast servers.

Mine shows "connection established" all of the time.  :)
If it were not established how would a user get streaming updates?  ???
The connection must remain constant or streaming updates would not be possible.  :)

hmm but i managed to trigger the 'connection established' thingy when i try to download freshly created files from softpedia (which fires up warning for poor reputation  :P)

shall try more to confirm  :D

edit 1: a screenshot to show that low reputation alert works even if 'connection not established' (i also checked the one in the maintenance tab to confirm) (capture 1)

edit 2: further testing seems to indicate that reputation alert does not give warning on zip files downloaded from the web (in this case sourceforge) (capture 2). when running the programme, however, the autosandbox is triggered with the reason 'file reputation is low'  :)

edit 3: however, trying to run the file the 2nd time or more, autosandbox did not get triggered anymore  ???. maybe i am just lucky to make the file of no longer low reputation? (capture 3) (made sure that it is not in autosandbox exclusions)

capture 3 (upload file size exceeded)

more testing, downloaded file from hxxp://xxx.softpedia.com/dyn-postdownload.php?p=87338&t=0&i=1. i ran the installer a few times to see if autosandbox popup is consistent. the 1st few times i ran the installer, autosandbox popped up. however, after repeated running of the installer, i arrived at capture 4.

i proceeded to delete the installer which i downloaded, re-downloaded the same file from the website, ran it again. i got capture 5!
reran it a few more times and i got capture 6!

capture 7 is to show that whether 'connection established' or 'connection not established' (capture 6) does not influence the results.  ???

erm...last one

after testing, i checked that autosandbox is working always by running autosandboxme.exe multiple times (more than 15 times)
autosandbox always sandboxes autosandboxme.exe without fail.

I think it works in a rather simple way. You fire app some program and it shows low reputation warning. Even if cloud goes offline in the meanwhile, it will still show the same alert for that very file even though you're not connected to the cloud.
