I had Moon AntiVirus installed on my computer, and I guess it doesn't work.  Something keeps popping up wanting me to buy it to fix my computer.  I tried to download several programs and it will not let me.  What the hell is going on?  Do I need to buy another a computer or what?  A friend recommended strongly that I install this software, but the beast will not allow it.

If you can download and install Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. Update it then run a full scan. Let it remove what it finds.

If you can't install it try Dr web CureIt. http://www.freedrweb.com/cureit/?lng=en
If you can't download anything you will need to download using another PC.
Here is some info on what I would guess you have on your PC?

Hope this helps

Never heard of Moon Antivirus and it not very well known across the globe of the AV marketing and on the internet, so it must be a rogue antivirus you better get rid of it dead quick.

I was thinking the same thing but its available through sourceforge.net and I do not think they would allow fake programs?

MoonAV is based on ClamWin. The program is rather crappy, but it's clean alright.
