If you don't use the "restorer" it's a disaster. Even then it ain't that great.

Anyone not using chrome will find it cr4p, it took ages to get a layout that best supported my use of firefox. Now it looks like cr4p one of the very reasons why I didn't like chrome, hated the layout.

How did you revert to 28.0 ?
The problem being when, when a future update is security related it is essentially going to force you back onto the cr4p layout.

I'm trying the Classic Theme Restorer add-on, which gives me back the add-ons bar. But I'm still trying to find a way to restore my header layout, navigation bar and a way to get the bloody page tabs back to the bottom of the Header, so they are connected to the pages.

Simple...uninstall then re-install the old version.
I also don't allow auto-updates in Firefox.
