Title: Firewall won't turn on

I have just renewed my license for Avast a couple days ago.  My program now shows "Attention".  When I click on the "Fix" button, nothing happens. It's as if it's a dead button.  The only thing I can see is that the firewall is not turned on.  When I click the link to "turn on" nothing happens again.  Like it's a dead link.  How can I fix this and get my firewall turned on?

did you try avast repair and reboot?

For a repair of avast. Windows, Add Remove programs, select 'avast! Anti-Virus,' click the Change/Remove button from the pop-up window, scroll down to Repair, click next and follow.

I should also mention, when I go to the Firewall section of the dialog box, it says it's running. Although there is no activity on the graph for days.

Yes I tried the repair.  After it was supposedly done, a box popped up that it had not successfully uninstalled.  I didn't want to fully uninstall it, just repair it (which I thought I had just done) so I clicked cancel.

try again....repair...and reboot


if no success, uninstall reboot and reinstall

3. Reinstall avast! with the downloaded installer from point 1.
