Great piece of free software, much less of a resource hog compared to norton.

I searched through this forum several times but to no avail on my current problem.

How do i turn off the boot up scan everytime i switch my computer on?.

Din, welcome to the forums...
you may want to double check your settings for Avast!
...also let us know what OS, etc.
Did you have Norton AV  installed before?

try using the search button on top of the screen with "boot scan" and you should get many results--I got too much to list here.

good luck!

Thanks CoJo for the welcome :).

I use Windows XP Pro and did have Norton installed before, but un-installed everything and manually went through my registery deleting them files norton left behind.

When i click on these options it says **Select Boot time scan** i get several options to choose from:

>Scan all local disks
>Scan selected path
>Scan archieve files
>Advanced options (With some sub menus underneath)

But from there, there is no option to stop the boot scan complety?

Hi Din.
The completely un-schedule could be done trying to schedule the second time.
An example:
1. You schedule a boot time scanning.
2. You will receive the pop-up window (message box) asking to boot now. You answer No.
3. You try to schedule it again.
4. You will receive the pop-up window (message box) saying that you already scheduled and if you want to cancel it. You cancel the scanning  ;)
