How to restore file from virus chest?
« on: July 19, 2012, 07:11:24 PM »
I am getting this error every time I start avast. "Line 1 of chest index is corrupted, ignoring". I can't find a way to restore files from chest.I think the reason is that avast was not properly closed.
I am using Ubuntu 12.04.
Any ideas?

I'm sorry Abbath, with each Linux Distro being peculiar to themselves it can be a matter of no one knowing an answer to your question.

Why did you put files in the Chest ?
Apart from the error message, which often sounds worse than it is due to the fact that Linux root files aren't permitted to be scanned, and due to Linux security, very unlikely to be infected.

If you're still concerned please repost.

Regards.
