System Problem?
« on: October 08, 2011, 01:50:27 PM »
Hi Guys I've done a full system scan which has thrown up an issue I can't sort out.

Avast was unable to scan some files (around 80) as 'archive is password protected'.

I can't apply to send to chest and can't even cut and paste to show you.

When I click on each file info comes up related to install flash player ten.

One example of unscanned file (forward slashes are back slashes can't find backslash on my keyboard)
C:/... /ButtonLeft.png

Any help advice much appreciated, many thanks for listening!

and why would you send them to chest.....files that can not be scanned are just that, does not mean they are infected
If a file is infected avast will say so and give it a malware name

Ok sorry. That's why I'm a llama I guess!  :-[ Also I realise it must get frustrating when people like me ask questions out of ignorance.

Just thought password protected seemed strange as I don't recall locking any files in that way.

As for taking a screenshot I really am a llama because I don't know how to, or to then attach it to you.

Thyanks for havng answered anyway, I hadn't come across anything of this sort in several years of happy avast use. I do think you guys are the best.

it does not have to be something you did, many programs...like security programs protect its files this way

so if you attach a screen shot then we may tell you what they are..

how to attach
lower left corner > additional options > attach
