Ebay

Is anyone getting a notice that ebay is unsafe? When I go to ebay, it's all fine, but when I make a search, it's telling me the site is unsafe. Is anyone else have a problem with this?

Who/what is telling you the site is unsafe ?

Post the information, if this includes URLs modify the http to hXXp so it breaks links avoidung accidental exposure.

The strange thing is that this file on its own doesn't make avast alert.

Repeat the search - what was it that you were searching for ?
If you can say what it was you were doing then I can try and replicate it.

If this happens click the Report as false positive link, see image. this should upload the details and file for further analysis.

Hi,
it looks, that you have old VPS. Update it and check again (there were made some fixing in this detection 2 weeks ago).

How do you update your vps? I just updated my VRDB and it's still giving me this.

@ bloody - David didn't comment on it, but hopefully you realize that the VRDB has nothing at all to do with avast defs or their updates.  The VRDB is essentially data about critical files on your system, to (hopefully) help repair infected files.  The Alwil team agree that, primarily because of major changes in the kinds of malware going around these days, it's pretty much obsolete now and will be dropped from avast 5.  Many of us still using 4.8 have already disabled the VRDB updates.
