Error:Access is Denied(5)
« on: January 29, 2010, 06:21:18 PM »
I haven't found an answer for this question yet on the board so I am going to ask here.
Running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit, Avast! 5

This error comes up when I right click on a directory and scan the directory with Avast.

When I right click on a directory and click to scan with Avast, if Avast finds a virus, the virus will be listed in the results but if I try to move to the chest or delete I receive this message
Error: Access is Denied(5)

I am sure this has something to do with providing administrator rights, but there does not seem to be an option on the right click menu to run the directory scan in administrator mode. So ...

How to I make sure that I can run an Avast scan from my right click menu in administrator mode?

Do you use some kind of filesystem encryption?

Nope. No encryption is being used.

Also, what he said.

Ok. Just a preflight check. Can you, please, check the file access rights?
