setupeng.exe not working

Hi!
I'm new to Avast.
I have finished downloading avast_home_setup.exe
After double clicking the file, some pop up window come out with "Downloading setupeng.exe"
But it never finished.
I tried to wait for several hours (max 5 hours), but it never finished.
So I cancelled it.


I tried also downloading the setupexe.eng from here:
http://files.avast.com/iavs4pro/setupeng.exe
The downloading took about 2 hours 40 minutes for 36 MB.
But nothing happen after I tried to run it.

Could you please help me ?

that is an online installer. do not use it. you can download one of the full installer from here : http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html

do not download the universal installer.

download full setup file(required language).

and before that, which antivirus are you currently running?. previously what security products did you use?.

What's the exact size of the file you downloaded?

Download Hash.exe (16KB) from http://keir.net/hash.html.  That is a program, with no installer, written by Robin Keir.  I've used it for years.  Run it and then drag and drop Setupeng.exe onto Hash.  The results should be as below.  I downloaded Setupeng.exe on 08/18/2009.
