Hi,

I use Avast 4 Home, and I have search how I can enabled or disabled Heuristic for Win32 Virus ?

Could you give me more details, thanks

What is heuristics anyway :D? I have heard one opinion that even old fashioned string scanning is a heuristics of its kind...

No, avast! does not use the traditional heuristics in which it tries to decide whether or not there is an unknown virus - this method is not functional on Win32 files anyway ;).

But yes, avast! uses many different methods to find even unknown viruses and worms (for example generic, family detections of many worms, viruse or trojans). It is a very complex set of different rules which are quite strong and successful in detection.

And finally - no - you can't switch on or off any of these methods for detecting Win32 viruses.
