Do you see any errors? If yes, you can save log file and send it to my email (kurtin@avast.com). Thanks.

Yeah, i saw some errors and sent you the logs but 1466 and 1473 versions of aswRegSvr.exe showed the same errors  ??? .

Just updated from GUI. Everything is fine except WebRep is now greyed. WebRep worked before update.

It seems that 7.0.1473 has brought back the BSOD problem.
I am using PRO version on my Windows 8 x64.
It was still OK last night.

But this morning, the BSOD on ndis.sys error appeared again.
So, I switched back to 7.0.1742 now.

By the way, when we downgrade Avast, it does not update the version information in registration thus GUI still shows new version number which is not correct.

Today, on my XP I have update to 1473 from Avast UI and all seems OK except for the Script module that show 0/0 for scan and infected files counting.  :o

Have you rebooted since the update (it is a requirement) as the script shield is working on my XP Pro system, with firefox 16.0.1 (also works with IE8) as the default browser. Whilst my numbers are low, having just booted and aside from being on the avast forums (some sections of which I exclude from the script shield) and just a few other sites.

Yes, but the problem is still here.   :(

Re: NEW PROGRAM UPDATE 7.0.1473 ISSUE
« Reply #110 on: October 25, 2012, 08:56:31 AM »
After update to Avast 7.0.1473 many programs can not start (e.g. Firefox, Total Commander, IE, Sysinternals suite). These programs are in memory and can not be event killed by Taskmanager.

Only very few programs are working properly (e.g. CCleaner).

If I turn off File shield and Behavioral shield then is issue resolved.

I'm running Windows XP x64.

No alarms or records in any Avast log (in any shield).

Just to join the growing list (after hours of troubleshooting):  I updated to 7.0.1473 free on three machines.  The Win7 x64 wouldn't finish booting.  An old laptop with XP simply froze.  Another XP desktop is running just fine.  All machines have the latest MS updates and are in great condition otherwise.  The too frozen machines worked fine in safe mode with networking and are back to normal after reverting to 7.0.1466.

Win7 Pro 64 bit

Like many people, after update to version 1473, my PC is frozen and I can't do anything... back to 1466 version and everything works fine

WR not working, but the big problem is avast is not letting Outlook sync with emal accounts.  It will allow them to be received but not send or sync folders (gmail and a local ISP). I rolled back to before the update and reinstalled again with the same result.

Hello,
which version of Outlook do you have. Are you connecting to servers with SSL active in Outlook or not?
Thanks.

Thanks Ivan- I'm using 2010, and no SSL.  Security is set to none just as before when Outlook worked.  Nothing changed other than the update.  Also tried a clean install after using the clear tool.  Same result.

I started a thread about this and it seems a few others are having Outlook problems as well.

I haven't been posting for some time, but I've been reading
the posts every day.  Always keeping avast up to date (see my sig).
Just to let you know, the reason I don't post is that I have
nothing to complain about. Avast continues to run smoothly
on my machine after each version update, and the data bases
come through every day when they're issued.  Keep up the
good work guys.   :D

I've tried the new update on all 3 of my PC's and after the restart the cursor just spins around and everything freezes,  no response from anything so I had to do a system restore in safe mode - when will it be ok to 'update' or is it best to reinstall or wait for version 8 with a fresh reinstall maybe?

Thanks,
Kaz

Just tried to update Avast on my husbands computer but it won't do anything.  Just sits there doing nothing.  Why won't it update?  He's running Windows XP SP3 64 which has been completely rebuilt.
