Title: Cant able to secure my pc and error while starting scan with avast 5.0.396

Hello friends,
I just downloaded the Avast Free Antivirus 5.0.396 ver but after i insatll i am unable to scan nor secure my pc everytime i click on the fix now button under current status nothing happens
moerover when i try to set a custom  and try to start the scan i get this error

unable to start scan
there are no end points from the endpoint mapper

NOW is 5.0.418 try automatic update

i am also unable activate the secure pc option

So obviously the avast service is not running. Have you tried the FIX NOW button?

this problem comes from a bug that results in clicking on a registration reminder...I had to uninstall Avast and start over with it  >:(

thanks bhelm looks like ur method worked i uninstalled and reinstalled it :P
