The avast! Rescue Disc also boots through Linux. :)

Don't be afraid of linux. The versions used for these disks are simple and graphical. Point and click, just like Windows. I don't have a Acronis disk handy, but here are a couple screenshots I just took while running Comodo Rescue Disk in live linux mode.

Ohhh, I see.  No naked down and dirty command line stuff.

However, something like that would not be something that could happen tomorrow or within the next couple of days.  Something like creating a Bootable Linux Flash Drive would have to happen when I had access to my sister's computer with High Speed Internet.

Well, since in reference to my Topic Title ... there wasn't any actual specific STEP that I didn't do in trying to get that 400 Gig Hard Drive going ... I'll consider this topic RESOLVED.

Thanks everyone for your insight, suggestions and tips!  :)

You're welcome, Chim.

Do spend some time reading the KB's in my posted link and the Macrium Support Forums. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.  ;)

I'll definitely have to find out whether cloning my Hard Drive onto my Flash Drive with Macrium Reflect will work.
If it turns out that it does work, then it's a freakin' gold mine.
If it turns out that is doesn't, oh well.  I guess there'll be extra space on my Flash Drive.  ;D
