Event Viewer
« on: April 12, 2010, 03:10:54 PM »
I installed 5.0.462 two days ago and I just noticed that there is no longer an entry in the Antivirus section of my Event Viewer.

I searched for the subject matter in this forum and found 2 discussions;

I too would like to see Avast 5 put back the Antivirus section in the Event Viewer.  I like it as a means of monitoring my computer for any problems in booting up and all the various things it can tell me.  At the same time I can tell if Avast automatic update worked ok and what update number is.  It also helps with the Event ID if there is a problem.

I would hope that Avast would consider putting Antivirus back in the Event Viewer.

I also miss the icon of the arrows going in a circle during the update procedure.  It was easy to see when Avast was in the update process and when it finished.

I am running W2k Pro and I have a 56k modem, so updates take a while for me and I would like to know when they are complete.  Can you offer any help or advice in this area??

This section is not there anymore on version 5.
Maybe they take this wish in account on further versions, but, as far I know, it's an old feature that won't be there anymore.
