Webfiltering with DIR 855
« on: November 04, 2008, 03:52:55 PM »
My router is Dlink DIR 855 and I have entered the following domains in the webfilter to block option:

ad.doubleclick.net
adlog.com.com
adservices.google.com
googleadservices.com
googlesyndication.com
google-syndication.com
servedby.advertising.com
view.atdmt.com
mm.chitika.net
ctxt.tribalfusion.com
intellitxt.com

The router is not blocking anyone of them. Any suggestions!

Well I don't have a router but there are tools that block well, I use Firefox 3.0.3 and AdBlock Plus which is very good and you can add additional sites to the blacklist.

If you are talking about the avast URL Blocking in the web shield, then it really isn't designed for this purpose (there are much better tools, ad blockers or HOSTS file, etc.), though it should still work.
