Avast Mac Security / Re: Unable to remove threat
« Last post by Kelly35 on Today at 04:05:54 AM »
The same thing just happened to me while doing a deep scan.  Same message..MacOS:Adload-CS (Trj) with the infected file being XProtect.yara.  I keep trying to resolve it, but it's not working.  Is it anything I should be deeply concerned about and does anyone know how to fix the problem?  I'm brand new here tonight so I'm hoping that I am asking my question correctly.  Thank you for any info anyone might be able to provide!

It monitors the Network as such, I don't believe it specifically runs scans, it is active all of the time monitoring the network.

So it will be constantly checking new network connections.

Unfortunately there isn't much for anyone to work with here as we know nothing about your Avast Program or the Network Inspector and Firewall settings.

I rarely get any notifications or interference from the Network Inspector, my settings screenshots are attached below.

Avast UI > Protection > Network Inspector
Avast UI > Menu > Settings > Protection > Network Inspector

Your Firewall settings will also have an impact depending on what you have set as a Trusted Network.

I doubt it's the firewall as nothing has changed. It keeps saying "connected to new network", even now after a single boot.

Scan for devices and monitor this network is off like what you've shown me in the first picture as well.

This started happening since the last avast program update. Like even as soon as that update was installed it did "connected to a new network", and did a scan at startup.

I'm using the latest avast free antivirus, 24.3.6108.

I could disable it as you showed in the image, but it's strange that it's a new behaviour since that update.

I re-scan my computer this morning. Avast shows no threats found. I guess they fixed the problem.

I wanted to know if something has changed in the network inspector scan? Because it keeps thinking I am connecting to a new network every so often at boot. And it scans the network as a result. If I have to guess it does it like every 24ish hours. Like it forgets it and just thinks it's connected to something new

I have to wonder if this isn't spamming (which could get you banned) as I have just visited the site and no Avast Alert, see attached image.

Eu tenho que me perguntar se isso não é spam (o que pode fazer com que você seja banido), já que acabei de visitar o site e não há alerta do Avast, veja a imagem em anexo.

OK, so Avast finds .cab files, why do you think that is unusual ?
Presumably Avast isn't alerting on these files  ?

I'm thinking that for some reason it can't scan them (.cab files can be very large compressed 'cabinet' files) and in some cases Avast can't open then to scan and or they might be considered too large.  This would generally be raised in a comment after the scan.

What I'm asking is why your concern about these .cab files outside of you can't find them (if Avast isn't alerting or throwing up an error) ?
Avast will have admin privileges in some scans and this may be why.

Português / Avast bloqueando meu site(URL PHISHING)
« Last post by Suporte6 on Yesterday at 09:34:39 PM »
Boa Tarde

Grato
