gmer still used by v5.0?

Is the gmer.sys driver (v1.0.14.4381) still being used by avast 5.0?  - Thank you

The anti-rootkit module in avast is based on the gmer anti-rootkit engine, though I don't know if it uses that name of an avast based file name. Though your version is different to mine(1.0.14.4401, see image.

Now I don't know if that may have anything the version of avast you are using and your signature is very short on information it has taken ages to get you to post that.

When asking for help the information in your signature (or lack of it) directly assists those who try to help. I can't understand the reluctance to do that.

Has this been included into the v5.0.*** platform and how good or how realizable this new version detecting anti-rootkit, and what kind of scanning technology are you using to detect anti-rootkit

Just there is no driver called gmer.sys there, neither in avast! 4.8, nor avast! 5.0.

Thanks Igor, many of us will have used the actual GMER anti-rootkit at one time or another, I have to see how it works and what it returns (for general information and help in the forums).

So that file may well have been hanging around for some time on peoples systems if they have used GMER.

Thanks Igor and is nice to see "based on"... anti-rootkit technology is integrated into avast, because as David said we've been using the latest GMER software version to scan for anti-rootkit at one time or another.
