Avast Internet Security blocking Wifi
« on: January 05, 2012, 07:21:15 PM »
Hi,

I installed Avast IS 6 (trial version) yesterday and it seem to be running like a dream, bar one little problem. I cannot get my devices to have internet through my Wifi. When I turn Avast Firewall off the internet access returns to my Wifi. And it also works fine with my Windows Firewall switched on.

With Avast Firewall switched on I have no problems connection to the internet from my main PC. The only problem is internet access through my DLink AP to my devices with Avast Firewall switched on.

Am I missing permissions or settings somewhere?

T'nx,

Jaco

Main PC:
Avast IS 6.0.1367 (trial version)
Win 7 32bit (latest updates)

Devices:
Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1
Samsung Galaxy S2
HP Laptop 7700 (Win 7 32bit)

I seem to have been able to fix my problem.  :)

Under "Firewall" I went to "Expert Settings" and then "Friends". Here you can add "From (IP Address/To(IP Address)"

I entered my device IP's to my DLink AP and also to from them to my Main PC (Internet). I'm sure the devices to the DLink IP's can be skipped and only do the device IP's to Main PC IP, but it is working and I am not going to fiddle around with it anymore. :)
