Sirefef-HO and consvr.dll

Hi to all, I am an happy registered user of avast! pro, now I am helping a friend to solve some infection problems. I clean its PC and now I already have one rootkit not active because avast! blocks it but I am not able to remove it. avast! says that a svchost.exe calls consvr.dll and it blocks it. avast! signal is as a rootkit named Win32:Sirefef-HO. I made a search here and also in the web but I don't find a solution for this problem simply because this PC hasn't any file of those I find in the web descriptions. Also I have none of the registry keys descripted on the web articles. The newest was wrote 5 days ago. Every help will be very appreciated.

This needs further analysis by a malware removal specialist:
Go to this topic http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0 for information on Logs to assist in cleaning malware. Use the information about getting and using the logs and attach the logs here, not in the LOGS topic.

This may prove a bit more complex (too and fro-ing, etc.) given it is on another system.

Hi you have the latest version of this stuff.  Avast is holding it in check at the moment and stopping it from doing any damage.  I will need several runs with this tool to kill it completely 

Download and Install Combofix
 
Download ComboFix from one of the following locations:

VERY IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop
 
* IMPORTANT - Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools. If you have difficulty properly disabling your protective programs, refer to this link here

• Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.
  
• Accept the disclaimer and allow to update if it asks

• When finished, it shall produce a log for you.
• Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply.[/b]
  

Notes:
1. Do not mouse-click Combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.
2. Do not "re-run" Combofix. If you have a problem, reply back for further instructions.
3.  If after the reboot you get errors about programmes being marked for deletion then reboot, that will cure it.



Please make sure you include the combo fix log in your next reply as well as describe how your computer is running now

This is my combofix log. Until now I haven't seen any avast! alarm but I think I need more time to say that the problem is solved.

Seems that I have no more problems. Avast! doesn't signal Sirefef-HO/consvr.dll problems. I try to see if it has signaled something during the lunch time, last popup is an avat! update. Is there any way to display last signaled problems with a red popup?

if you mean the avast pop up?......if you right click avast tray icon, there is a "show last pop up"
if you have rebooted after last pop up, then the pop up will be gone...

I used exactly that option. My question is: is there any other option to see the popup chronology (or something like a list of the last avast! alarms)?

if you open avast > Realtime shields > There is a shield log in lower right corner on every shield

1. Close any open browsers.
2. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.
3. Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it:

File::
C:\Windows\SysNative\wmiapsrv.dll

AtJob::

NetSvc::
siside

Driver::
siside

Save this as CFScript.txt, in the same location as ComboFix.exe


Refering to the picture above, drag CFScript into ComboFix.exeWhen finished, it shall produce a log for you at C:\ComboFix.txt which I will require in your next reply.
