Title: How to use Sandbox (Avast Free)
Post by: wezternator on April 21, 2011, 04:44:36 PM
Hi,

I can not figure out how to use the sandbox in Avast (version 6.0.1) I've been reading the help file but it doesn't seem to make any sense.

To run an application or to browse the web using the sandbox, just click on "Run a virtualized process" then browse the files on your computer to find the required application e.g. Internet Explorer. The browser or other application will then open in a special window with a red border, indicating that it is being run inside the sandbox.

Where is this button? I can not find it anywhere in the program.

By checking the box "Integrate into the right-click context menu..." on the Parameters screen, you can add this option to the context menu. You can add this option for all users, or only for users with administrator rights.

Where is this option, I go into the File System Shields Expert settings but I can not see a Parameters setting :s

Are these features only usable in the Pro version of Avast?

Thanks,
Wez

Adding to igor's note,

The help file contains all the contents of full version(Internet Security) of avast.

Only Autosandbox is available in the free version (See pic).
