If the master boot record was corrupted by that virus or something, just use the winpe disk or any other liveCD to access the drive's files and copy whatever you need.

Once done, wipe the whole drive from your win7 partition and re-format.  You should be able to setup new partitions and use the drive as a secondary, or you can swap your Win7 drive with the old one if you want.

Have you tried to rewrite the MBR ?
Win7 has a tool called bootrec which can do that for you

That would be a good idea as well.  If it works, you won't have to wipe everything and start over.  If it doesn't, you might further lose access to data, so just be sure to backup everything you can with a live CD first before trying to resurrect it.
