Unable to download Java
« on: August 08, 2013, 09:28:19 PM »
I hope you can help me with this :'(

I've been trying to update Java after I've been ignoring it for quite sometime now.  I keep getting the following error message: "Get Default Browser Error 2".  I was following the instructions from the Java website to correct this issue, but I'm getting nowhere.  I deleted Java 6, and I continued to get a message saying that it was outdated.  Now the Java icon doesn't even show in the control panel anymore  :-\ I tried uninstalling Java completely and starting fresh, but I can't even do that.  This is for an XP sevice pack 3.  Please help me, I would really appreciate it.

I've tried both, the automatic and the manual. Now When I go to add/remove programs the only version that shows is Java 7 update 9.  It won't let me uninstall it, it gives me some sort of fatal error.
