Removing 22find
« on: February 22, 2013, 04:57:55 AM »
Hello,
I am new to avast. I just purchased the Internet Security for my dad who is having issues with his computer. He installed or downloaded 22find which causes pop ups and controls the home page. A few hours after purchase and running boot scans we tried to delete the files. When he opened his homepage it did not know where to go but then started up 22find again. We called tech support and they want us to pay $179 to fix the problem. We just purchased the two years worth of protection. So that brings me to three questions.

1. Has anyone else had to remove 22find malware before and can Avast do it?

2. Does purchasing Avast mean that my dad will always pay for tech support from Avast.

3. Does Avast do refunds?. I hope to not use this  since I like Avast.

You can get free support here in the forums, please run the tools here ( first 4 ) http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0 and attach the logs back here when done and one of the malware specialists will be able to check them out later and help you further.

Do I need to do anything more? It no longer comes up when going on the internet. I ran the Adware remover tool you sent and after deleting this is what it showed the second time since I forgot to copy the first time.
Do I need to follow the other steps still? Thanks

we need logs from...

AdwCleaner
Malwarebytes
OTL
aswMBR

attach the logs, not copy and past

when done the removal specialist will be notified. it may take hours before one arrive so be patient
