Avast for Linux in an organization
« on: February 24, 2013, 09:15:23 PM »
I have successfully installed Avast Linux Home Edition on Ubuntu 12.10 and it runs smoothly.

Sadly, institutions (even non-commercial ones) are not licensed to use avast! Linux Home Edition. So is there an Avast edition that can be legally run on a Linux server in an organization?

Not that I am aware of - but such products are available from other AV vendors - a quick google search will reveal several.

Thanks for the quick reply, mag. Yes, we also use a couple other antiviruses (not sure I'm allowed to mention them here) but I wanted to use Avast in this particular case.

Again, thanks!

antivirus avast! for Linux/Unix Servers
avast! for Linux/Unix Servers is an antivirus solution for the more and more popular Linux and BSD environments. Considering its robust design and mail scanning support, it is primarily intended for Linux (or BSD) based servers and workstations. Thanks to its flexible deamon architecture, avast! for Linux can be used for both filesystem and network traffic scanning, such as real-time monitoring of mail (SMTP).
