lastest avast install problem

I'm using win8 pro x64 .I haven't been able to get the internet security program installed and running yet
It will install but when it reboots it hangs after logon and windows won't ever load the desktop

have you had any AV installed before?
if so did you uninnstall it before trying to install avast?

running more then one AV will give you a slow machine, mysterious windows errors, false positive detections

windows defender/ms security essentials all come stock with windows 8

if you want to run avast MSE must be uninstalled.....

it is recomended to use a removal tool to clear any conflictig files

no in windows 8 mse in now part of the os as well as defender is
it will disable itself anyway
one can't install mse in windows 8, it won't let you
