« on: September 24, 2013, 07:41:06 PM »
Dear all,

Yesterday i closed my laptop like i always do.

But this morning when i tried to start it up, it went straight to startup repair. After doing that for more then 15 times ive had enough.

i have alot of important documents and files that i wish to keep.

This is the message i get from diagnostics and repair details:
File: \Windows\System32\Drivers\aswVmm.sys
Status: 0xc000000d

Please help me...
i cant start up in safe mode
I cant go back to an earlier know configuration
and i do not have a image file of my system

im running Windows Professional 7 32 Bit
and i was running a free version of AVAST.

thanks in advance.

Could you attach the log as half of it appears to be missing

The thing to be aware of is that fix removes the service keys for Avast and as the file was corrupt I would recommend a clean install

Lets reinstall Avast

Download Uninstall Utility to your Desktop.
Download the correct version of Avast
Avast Free
Avast Pro
Avast Internet Security
Avast Premier
Disconnect from the net
Uninstall Avast via control panel

  • Run aswClear
  • It will offer to reboot to safe mode .. No need to accept that

  • In the Select Product to Uninstall dropdown choose the version of Avast that is on your system.
  • Press Uninstall
  • Once complete reboot your system to Normal Mode
  • Reinstall Avast
