Unless you're an expert at cleaning the registry, stay away from registry cleaners and or Tune up utilities.
The small minute amount of time that they may gain in your start up, isn't worth the possibility of not being able to boot your system
because the wrong reg. key got removed.
Your computer, your choice but not something I would touch.
If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it!

Hi streim,

bob3160 is right, here you get some advice from folks that really know about this. Stay away from registry cleaners, do not touch them. Better to back-up your registry settings so you could go back to the original settings when you need them. Make a system snapshot once in a while,

I must be lucky, I've been using Wise registry cleaner and CCleaner for years without a problem.
Avast Free 20.3.2405 - Comodo 12.2.2.7036 Firewall with D+ - Winpatrol Free.
On demand - MBAM - Super Antispyware.

I used Wise registry cleaner back when I was using Windows 95 and didn't know any better.
I also never had any "problems" with it that I know of.
Which doesn't change the advice. :)

P C Tools and it's other products also leaves a lot of remnants behind when you uninstall it.  I've had great luck using CCleaner as well.

As many of the members above I would never recommend the use of a registry cleaner. Even if it seems all is well, with time, and little by little, inconsistencies star building in the registry.

CCleaner is great to clear the junk out and other little features to have at hand, but it is my believe that its registry cleaner is a placebo. I have never had more than 40 or so detections with CCleaner in my PC so I let them be.

;D  Thank you all so much for the advice.  It was a computer tech friend of mine who told me to get the PC tools registry mechanic...so I pay 29.95 a year.
I guess I was definitely misinformed  :(
Thank you once again good ole forum buddies for helping me out of a bad situation!!   ;D
