Do you use a proxy to connect to the internet ?

What avast version are you using 4.8 or 5.0 ?

This assume you have avast 5.
What is your firewall ?
Does it allow avastSvc.exe internet access ?
- If it does delete the entry for it and reconnect to the internet, this should force the firewall to ask permission again.

nik311296,
are you using a firewall and if so which one?
Have you checked the firewalls log file to see if anything from avast is blocked?
Since when did it start?
