Help can not get the 2nd smtp set up.
I have asked before and got some help but I still am having problems with one account.

I host a site thru lunarpages and they issue you a email address.  Then you can create addition ones as you needed them.

I can get the orginal email address to work and scan incomming mail.  Using the # and the 127.0.0.1.  However I can not get my seccond to work ,  if I put the # in the user name for the POP3 then it will not accept my login password.

I know about the Avast4.ini  and I have put in the default POP3 and SMTP for my ISP .

But I just can not figure out how to put in the POP3 and SMTP information for my hosting email

I have looked but can find any information that I understand.  I know about the sticky post on the forum but it just does not understand what I am to do.

So could someone please give me an example of what the Avast4.ini will look like.

Email prgram Thunderbird  1.0
OS  Win98

Total of 7 email account
  • one accout just uses the  username plus 127.0.0.1
  • 4 acount   username#domain.com plus 127.0.0.1
  • last account nothing works for scanning

The last acount is one this created by me thru my hosting server using there email create program.

I can send and recieve mail trhu the last account but only if I use the domain name in the pPOP3 server and the domain name in the SMTP setting .

I have tried subitutiting various other characters because it will not accept the # sign.

Any ideas as what to do?

Are you saying that if you use the normal pop3 and smtp servers it will work?
I mean, only with avast scanning it won't work?

If so, you can test for sending:
username@smtpserver#smtpserver
into the smtp authentication

For receiving it should work:
servername#username
